Now i know some of you need not worry about working while traveling and are all set on the financial end, but what about the rest? Do you work when you travel to afford where you're going and what you're doing? What kind of work do you do? I taught English in Asia when I was there, but now im going to poorer central american countries, and i dont think this work will really be available, at least not on any other terms than as volunteers...

Re: back packing and working...
Tue, February 10, 2009 - 9:50 AMI try not to mix work with my outdoor pleasure. When I surrender to the vastness of a wilderness, I want total immersion, even if just for a few days. I want to run naked through the trees, sit and stare at a flower for an hour, or simply watch a stream crash violently down a mountainside while I let go of all the urban noise in my head, all the obligations, all the chores, all the random controls that determine what I must do, rather than what I want to do. I want to just BE.......in the forest.
I try to leave that all behind, just for a time.....
